This 4-H year has taken me all over the state of Arizona, I have had success at shows, challenged myself with Public Speaking, and enjoyed the opportunities to give back and serve my community. This year, I volunteered to clean up the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Marana, AZ, this is a service I will continue each year. I enjoyed helping take care of such a special place.
On February 13th, 2025 Select Members of Ironwood Ranchers and Boots and Buckles were invited to speak at IMPACT Marana, we focused on the importance smallstock agriculture plays in developing and urban areas. I really enjoyed sharing my 4-H story and letting chamber members snuggle with my pygmy goat, Twist.
I decided to build a worm bin composter for my old pueblo hall project this year, I thought it would be more challenging than a poster. My little sister is in Cloverbuds and she is learning about worms, composting and gardening, so that inspired me. After fair I will be donating it to the Ironwood Ranchers Cloverbuds. This was a two day project for me, on day 1 I found a building plan online I wanted to use and I went with my dad to Home Depot to buy all the wood I would need for the project. Day 2 I went to my family friends house and he taught me how to measure and make the cuts in the wood. He also taught me how to use his power tools!! I then took it home to sand, stain and seal. I had a great time doing this and it has inspired me to see what else I can do for future Old Pueblo Hall projects.
